I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful wedding on the last weekend of September, and most likely the last summery day of Winnipeg's 2009. January and Michael were wed in a traditional polish catholic mass surrounded by family and friends. The church (Holy Ghost), situated on Selkirk Avenue, had a gorgeous angular ceiling with loads of bright natural light. The ceremony was rich with culture and tradition and it was delight photographing it. After some wedding party photos at the Via Rail Station, Waterfront Drive and in the exchange district, we headed to Assiniboine Park for a lovely reception at the Star Grill. The night ended with quite the lively dance party in the conservatory surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. January and Michael sure knew how to put on a great party! My second photographer Duncan and I stayed passed midnight and captured a lot of the fun that was had on the dance floor. I must say, January's parents are quite the polka dancers! I was tempted to put my camera down and join in the fun!
Congratulations January and Michael - it was a pleasure to be a part of it all.

The main wedding photography season in Winnipeg is almost over now that we're seeing snow on the ground... but that can only mean one thing! Winter wedding season in Winnipeg is about to start. Can't wait!
