The great thing about the friends I made last year at PrairieView is that they are always up for a photo shoot party, even a year after graduating from photography school. Today we had a great big shoot party at my place, full of breakfast food and cameras. (Lots and lots of cameras.) Among other things, I decided I wanted to photograph people's eye balls. Not just quick snap shots, but up and close and personal with my big macro lens shoved up against their eyes. Results? Incredible! Have you ever studied the lines and textures and colours of the human iris? It's amazing how each of our eyes are so unique and beautiful. Here is a sample of everyone's eyeballs today after some editing in Lightroom.

I also want to thank Anna for posing so patiently as our test eye ball subject as I tried getting the lighting just right. I also want to thank Duncan and Amanda for being such awesome photog friends and helping me with lighting. What are photog friends for, eh? :)
Now this bunch of eyes are just the beginning. I'm going to continue this project and get more eye shots. I know the lighting isn't the greatest on these ones, but we were experimenting, and I plan on fine-tuning that.
If anyone wants to join this project and pose for my big macro lens, please send me an email! I'll give you a digital copy of your eye in exchange. :)

Wow! I see oriental symbols in the last eye! I wonder what they mean? Hmmm... I guess you really can read peoples eyes.

Coooooooool...looks good Gab!
Ooo, kind of creepy. I wish I was eyeball #2. Stunning! So which one is yours? This is probably about the only photo shoot I'd volunteer for. Sign me up!
Each eye looks like it's own mini galaxy. Very cool.

Whooaaa, I want you to take a picture of my eye!
Wow! Incredible. I want to be part of your eyeball project. I love your shots so far. And I love eyeballs :)
You should try a project with up close shots of hands. That's my next favorite body part.
Hi Gabrielle! If you are still looking for subjects for eyes, I'd be willing to participate :o)
